We teach that the Bible is the inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
“All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness that the man of God may be complete equipped for every good work.”
-2 Timothy 3:16-17
We teach that the Lord our God is the only living and true God. He exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each being co-equal and co-eternal. He is the sole creator of all things, including mankind.
“yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.”
-1 Corinthians 8:6
We teach that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, the second member of the Trinity. He is both fully God and fully man. Having existed for eternity with the Father and Spirit he took on flesh, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life, died a substitutionary atoning death for the sins of all who will believe on His name. Having been crucified, He was buried and rose again on the third day, He ascended to the right hand of the Father where he makes intercession for believers. Salvation can be found through no other means than Christ.
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved”
-Acts 4:12
We teach that the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity. He is a divine person; He is eternal and possesses all the attributes of God. He indwells those who believe in Christ convicting them of sin and conforming them to the image of Christ. He is the divine teacher who guided the men used by God to write our Holy Scriptures.
“but the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with it’s passions and desires”
-Galatians 5:22-24
We teach that man was created directly by God, made in the image and likeness of God, created without sin, intelligent with a rational nature, a will, and a moral responsibility to God. Adam, being the first of mankind and the federal head of all mankind, sinned against God, bringing sin into the world and death with it. All mankind since has been born into sin and subject to the wrath of a Holy God for their sinfulness. Though mankind was created to be in relationship with God, sin has damaged that relationship. The only way to restore right relationship to God is through believing on Jesus Christ.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God”
-Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
-Romans 6:23
We teach that apart from faith in Jesus Christ, no one can be saved. To "believe on Christ" is to trust in all the Scriptures say concerning who He is and what He has accomplished. The "good news" of the Gospel is that though man is sinful and incapable of performing perfect righteousness in order to be accepted into the presence of God for eternity, Christ has made a way of salvation. Christ, who is the Second Adam, was born of a virgin and lived a perfect and sinless life-fulfilling the covenant of works which Adam failed to uphold. He suffered a substitutionary atoning death by which He took upon Himself the wrath of God for the sins of all who would call upon His name, thereby purchasing their pardon. He was raised from the grave after 3 days, and thereafter ascended to the right hand of The Father, where He makes intercession for the saints as their eternal High Priest.
- 'Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6
- 'because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ' -Romans 10:9
- 'For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. ' -Romans 5:19
